I love and encourage helpful criticism of my art and will do what I can to make them better. With that said, what I don't listen to are those that call into question my unique style or the subject matter of the art itself.

For example, two people have told me that my High Elf based on Elder Scrolls lore looks nothing like an elf, only like a "pointy-eared human". With that said, it is my own style and to copy directly the art style laid out by Zenimax and Bethesda would be grossly inappropriate of me to do. What I would enjoy hearing is how I can make the eyes wider apart perhaps, adjust the shading, etc. I request that everyone leaving comments remain professional and keep their critiques to the art rather than the how you perceive the subject to look. If you want my art to look a certain way, either pay me for a commission or keep the comments to yourself.

Anyone not adhering to what I have placed before them will have their comment hidden or removed, and their name blocked. Further harassment thereafter will be met with a report and possibly banned.

I totally understand what you mean, some guy saw fit to tell me today that my Altmer doesn't look like an Altmer at all just a 'pretty elf' and it's probably the same guy as he seems only to target those who don't uphold his ideals of the Altmer race. I have seen countless images on here of Altmer and everyone has their own way of depicting them, some have pale skin and small pointy ears while others like to put emphasis on the ears and skin tone, at the end of the day it is your character and you have the right to draw him how you want.

Hear, hear! And yeah, it seems to be the same guy every time. I saw the same person comment on someone else's Bosmer art, saying that it didn't look like how a Bosmer needs to look. Hey, if he thinks the Mer races should look a certain way, then he can draw his own doodles.

*Flashes a grin!*

Yup, except I don't think this guy can draw so he's probably jealous of those who can and he's obviously a racist as he bashed one of my Altmer paired with her love interest who just happens to be a Nord which is apparently Heresy! lol! :D

Its amazing how people will criticize the artistic choices made to bring something to life, instead of the art itself.  In the end, aren't 'elves' nothing more than human's with pointy ears?  I mean...sure, there is a back 'story' of them being eternal and all that...but...yeah....  Kinda like Vulcans....  Take a human, glue on pointy ears, Boom, we have a vulcan....  At least they didn't start the argument of, "OMG Elf ears are supposed to be like WoW ears, not like Tolkien ears!"

In the end, the essence of your art carries emotion and feeling.  Something many artists simply cannot capture.  That is where your talent lies, and why I admire it so.  Doesn't matter who or what you draw, I can look at it, and feel an emotion or get a story out of it.
